A United Airlines flight encountered a mechanical issue while landing at Orlando International Airport (MCO) on Sunday, but fortunately, no injuries were reported among the 200 passengers and six crew members aboard. The incident forced the aircraft to block the runway, prompting ground crews to work on removing the plane and transport passengers to the terminal via bus.

United Flight 2323 had departed from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport at 8:55 a.m. and landed in Orlando at approximately 12:35 p.m. Following the landing, the mechanical issue emerged, leading to a temporary ground stop at Orlando Airport, which was later updated to a ground delay as operations resumed.

The cause of the mechanical problem remains unclear, and the specific nature of the issue has not been disclosed. However, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported that flights to and from Orlando International Airport experienced some delays as a result of the incident, as outlined in their National Airspace System Status database.

Weather conditions on Sunday were reportedly windy, rainy, and cold, with the Orlando area experiencing gusts of up to 54 mph reported by the airport and even higher gusts at nearby Orlando Executive Airport. A high wind warning was issued for parts of Brevard County due to the expected strong winds.

United Airlines has confirmed that their team is working diligently to clear the aircraft from the runway, ensuring that operations return to normal as soon as possible. Despite the disruption, the swift emergency measures taken by the airline and airport staff helped to ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers involved.
