In a recent meeting, Kamchybek Dosmatov, First Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Security, and Migration, shared promising statistics regarding employment trends for 2025. The ministry reported a significant drop in the official unemployment rate, which now stands at a remarkable 1.4%, a notable improvement compared to previous years.

The downward trend in unemployment has been striking, with recorded figures over the past years as follows: 2.9% in 2021, 2.8% in 2022, 2.9% in 2023, and 1.8% in 2024. The clear reduction signifies successful initiatives aimed at enhancing employment opportunities.

As for current statistics, there are 56,500 individuals registered with employment services in 2025, reflecting a 20% decrease from the 70,600 registered in 2024. Among those registered, 38,100 are officially recognized as unemployed, which is a 22% reduction compared to the previous year.

The total number of employed persons has reached 17,500, with an additional 19,800 individuals engaged in various active employment programs. A standout initiative is the “Internship for Youth” project, designed to develop essential skills and enhance job readiness among young professionals. Running until 2025, this program has not only provided monthly salaries to internship participants but has also reached out across 30 pilot districts and cities, with around 3,000 young people benefiting from its support.

In 2025, 1,851 participants completed their internships, with 1,332 securing employment in diverse roles such as cashiers, social worker assistants, nurses, credit specialists, engineers, HR specialists, massage therapists, hairdressers, auto electricians, and design assistants.

The proactive measures implemented by the Ministry of Labor reflect a stabilizing labor market and a concerted effort to reduce unemployment while fostering active participation in the workforce. The results indicate a positive trajectory for the job market and an encouraging future for job seekers, particularly young professionals looking to enter the labor market.
