TIPP CITY — The community is coming together to honor the life of Ashley Flynn, a 37-year-old mother who tragically lost her life during a suspected home invasion in Tipp City this week. A celebration of life service has been scheduled for Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Christian Life Center, located at 3489 Little York Road in Butler Township.
Flynn was fatally shot early Monday morning in her home on Cunningham Court. On the night of the incident, authorities reported that only Flynn, her husband, and their children were inside the residence when an intruder broke in.
Dispatch logs indicate the tense moments following the shooting. A caller reported that someone had entered their home and mentioned an open garage door. Inside, Flynn was found unresponsive, prompting immediate concern as the dispatcher relayed that children were present in the home. The caller and one of their daughters managed to lock themselves in a bedroom for safety.
Despite multiple inquiries regarding the release of 911 calls related to the incident, the Miami County Prosecutor’s Office stated that these recordings are part of the ongoing investigation and will not be disclosed until the inquiry is sufficiently advanced.
Following the incident, speculation arose regarding the capture of a suspect, prompting the Tipp City Police Department to clarify that such claims are unfounded. Police Chief Greg Adkins emphasized the importance of relying on verified information and urged the community to remain patient as investigators pursue a thorough and deliberate investigation. According to police, it appears to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community.
As the community grapples with this devastating loss, the investigation will continue to seek justice for Flynn and clarity for her family. In the face of this tragedy, residents are reminded of the resilience of their community and the support available during such trying times.
