Theo James has shared intriguing insights about the highly anticipated second season of The Gentlemen, set to premiere on Netflix next year. The British actor, known for his role as the aristocrat Eddie Halstead, spoke with The Times about the evolution of the series.

In his interview, the 40-year-old actor revealed the creative team’s intention to build upon the foundations laid in the first season while expanding the narrative universe. “We’ve been trying to build on what we did in the first season but make the world bigger, darker,” he stated, highlighting the show’s ambition for a richer storytelling experience. He added that while maintaining its comedic essence, the new season promises to delve deeper into character arcs and plots.

Theo also opened up about the impact of fatherhood on his personal life, explaining that having children has provided him with a sense of perspective. “It sounds corny, but having kids levelled me out because I realised that there’s something bigger and more important than my own hyper-obsessiveness,” he noted.

The Gentlemen, a comedy-drama inspired by Guy Ritchie’s 2019 film of the same name, became one of Netflix’s standout hits in 2024, amassing over 44 million views within just four weeks of its release. The series features an ensemble cast that includes Vinnie Jones, Kaya Scodelario, and Hugh Bonneville, among others.

Work on the second season commenced in London in June, with fans eagerly awaiting its release, which is tentatively scheduled for 2026. With heightened expectations and a commitment to storytelling, The Gentlemen’s upcoming season looks set to captivate audiences once more.
