Texas Indictment Hits Titans Cornerback L’Jarius Sneed

Tennessee Titans cornerback L’Jarius Sneed faces legal challenges as he has been indicted in Texas on a misdemeanor charge for failing to report an aggravated assault related to an alleged shooting incident from December 6, 2024, which occurred in suburban Dallas. According to court records, a grand jury in Dallas County issued the indictment, although it does not provide extensive details regarding the incident.

On the day of the alleged shooting, Sneed, 28, and another individual, Tekonzae Williams, were reportedly inside a Lamborghini Urus when two men filed a civil lawsuit claiming they were shot at. The lawsuit, which seeks damages of at least $1 million, was brought forth by plaintiffs Christian Nshimiyimana and Avi Ahmed, who state that they were in a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon parked on a vehicle dealership lot when the incident took place. They indicated they were unaware of the identities of the shooters at the time.

Williams has also been indicted on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the case, but no information regarding his legal representation has been disclosed. Miraculously, there were no injuries reported from the shooting, although bullets did strike the Mercedes-Benz and a nearby building.

The Tennessee Titans have acknowledged the legal issue surrounding Sneed and are in compliance with NFL security protocols. The team has opted not to provide further comment on the matter at this time. Sneed’s agent, Jason Katz, has similarly refrained from comment.

In terms of his performance and career, Sneed was placed on injured reserve last month due to a quadricep injury, marking the second consecutive season where he faced this setback after being traded from the Kansas City Chiefs, a move that made him one of the highest-paid cornerbacks in the league. Sneed has had a successful career thus far, having been drafted from Louisiana Tech University in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft and contributing to back-to-back Super Bowl victories with the Chiefs in 2022 and 2023.

As the legal proceedings unfold, Sneed’s future with the Titans, along with his recovery from injury, will be closely observed by fans and commentators alike.
