Tennessee’s Ament Shines as Boswell Sidelined With Minor Injury Ahead of North Florida Clash

Nate Ament is set to play for the Tennessee Volunteers against North Florida, whereas Bishop Boswell is anticipated to sit out due to minor injuries afflicting both players. The game is scheduled for November 12 at 7 p.m. ET at Food City Center and will be broadcast on SEC Network+.

Boswell is suffering from a right foot injury, which occurred when he was stepped on during the Vols’ convincing 95-56 victory over Northern Kentucky on November 8. Coach Rick Barnes confirmed that although both players were limited during practice on November 11, it was primarily a precautionary measure to ensure their recovery.

Ament has been a standout player for Tennessee, contributing significantly with an average of 20.5 points and 8.5 rebounds over the first two games. He made a splash in his collegiate debut, scoring 18 points and grabbing nine rebounds against Mercer on November 3, then following that performance with 23 points, eight rebounds, and five assists against Northern Kentucky.

The 6-foot-10 Ament is noted for being the highest-rated recruit in the program’s history, ranking as the No. 4 prospect in the 2025 class according to the 247Sports Composite. In contrast, Boswell, standing at 6-foot-4, has been averaging 5.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game and has shown impressive shooting skills with a 60% success rate on three-pointers.

Tennessee opened the season with a win over Mercer, defeating them 76-61, and then solidified their strong start with the win against Northern Kentucky. The Vols, presently ranked No. 18 nationally, are looking to continue their winning streak while coping with the injuries of key players.
