TEAM United FC triumphed in the Church Futsal Brothers competition at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva, securing the championship title with a decisive 2-0 victory over Jordan United in a thrilling final that captivated fans and supporters.

Shamyen Stanelly Mudaliar, the Media and Production officer of CFB, praised the success of the event, highlighting the thrilling matches, commendable sportsmanship, and the serene atmosphere that permeated the tournament. The event showcased a sense of unity and fellowship among the participating churches, which left a lasting impression on the organizing committee.

“By God’s grace, the competition went very well. The weekend was filled with exciting futsal, strong sportsmanship, and a peaceful environment,” Mudaliar stated. He noted that one of the highlights for the committee was the evident cooperation and camaraderie between the churches, reflecting the spirit of honor on and off the court.

The tournament saw a commendable turnout with 16 teams competing and a significant number of spectators filling the gymnasium. “Our main aim is to spread the Word of God and bring churches together in unity. Futsal serves as the platform, but Jesus remains the focal point, gathering believers to celebrate His name, foster friendships, and strengthen faith and fellowship,” Mudaliar explained.

Team Calvary Young Men’s FC from Calvary Temple stood out during the competition for their exemplary discipline, positive attitude, and respect for others. Their behavior embodied the core values of unity and fellowship that the CFB promotes.

Looking forward, the committee is already in the preliminary stages of planning the next edition of the competition, tentatively set for the first week of June, pending venue confirmation. Their ongoing goal remains to enhance CFB as a platform for churches to gather, build relationships, and glorify Christ.

In a heartfelt message to attendees, the committee expressed gratitude for their participation, offering thanks to players, churches, supporters, volunteers, referees, and sponsors for their invaluable contributions to an event that transcended mere sporting spirit. This collective effort underscores a profound commitment to community, faith, and fellowship, reflecting a hopeful future for the competition.
