Tarantino Teases Kill Bill Expansion: Bill Origins Prequel and Vega Brothers Animated Film

Quentin Tarantino has ignited excitement among fans by hinting at several potential projects, including a prequel to his iconic “Kill Bill” series and an animated film featuring some of his well-known characters.

Tarantino recently ventured back into the “Kill Bill” universe with “The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge,” a concept that originated from the original script but was ultimately cut from the films. This action-packed episode is now accessible to players in the popular game Fortnite, showcasing the ongoing influence of the “Kill Bill” franchise.

During the promotion of “Yuki’s Revenge,” Tarantino was asked about future “Kill Bill” projects. He revealed that he has contemplated a prequel that delves into the origins of the enigmatic character Bill. “I had a whole Kill Bill idea in my mind when we were doing it, and then I was so wiped out from doing the movie,” he said. Tarantino expressed enthusiasm for exploring the backstory of Bill, highlighting the three key figures who shaped his character: Esteban Vihaio, Pai Mei, and Hattori Hanzō. However, he acknowledged that whether this idea comes to fruition depends on his future schedule and health.

In addition to the prequel, Tarantino’s work on “Yuki’s Revenge” has opened his creativity to the possibility of animated projects. He shared that he envisions an animated film that meshes the worlds of his iconic characters, suggesting a unique blend with influences from Japanese anime. One such idea that has lingered since the 1990s is the long-discussed “Vega Brothers” film, which would unite characters played by Michael Madsen and John Travolta in “Reservoir Dogs” and “Pulp Fiction,” respectively. The animated format could provide a fresh avenue to explore this concept, especially following the passing of Madsen earlier this year.

Fans of Tarantino can look forward to “Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair,” which merges “Kill Bill: Volume 1” and “Kill Bill: Volume 2” into a singular experience. This highly anticipated release is set for December 5, 2025, reigniting interest in Tarantino’s beloved universe as he considers new stories to tell.

As Tarantino continues to innovate within his cinematic universe, fans can remain hopeful that these potential projects will come to life, providing fresh narratives and expanding the legacies of his unforgettable characters.
