A 47-year-old man named Anare Vunitabua has been charged with the murders of his former partner, Anaseini Waqavuki, and her new boyfriend, following a violent incident in Quakers Hill, Sydney, early Sunday morning. According to police reports, the incident occurred on Illabo Street, where Vunitabua allegedly attacked both victims with a knife.
Witnesses discovered Vunitabua on the footpath around 5 AM, suffering from stab wounds to his stomach and hands. He was taken to the hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter. Meanwhile, Waqavuki was found inside her home, having sustained multiple stab wounds, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Vunitabua was due to appear in the Bail Division Court today; however, the magistrate ruled that a court appearance was unnecessary at this stage.
