A 23-year-old man from Nabua Topline was taken into custody in Suva following an incident where he allegedly assaulted a police officer on Waimanu Road yesterday afternoon.
According to police reports, officers from the Central Division, K9 unit, and Southern Division were responding to complaints of disturbances in the area. The situation escalated when the suspect reportedly attacked an officer before fleeing to a nearby residence.
Police pursued the man and subsequently apprehended him. During the altercation, the officer sustained injuries. The suspect is currently in custody as investigations into the incident are ongoing.
