A trough of low pressure is currently positioned to the northeast of Fiji and is anticipated to migrate southward, resulting in increased cloud cover and rain showers in the northern and eastern regions starting tomorrow, as reported by weather experts.

The Fiji Meteorological Service, in its latest forecast extending to midnight, indicates that moments of cloudiness accompanied by brief showers are expected over several areas, including Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Naitasiri-Tailevu North, Ra-Rakiraki, Cakaudrove, southern Bua province, Taveuni and surrounding smaller islands, Kadavu and nearby isles, as well as the Lau and Lomaiviti groups.

For other regions across the Fiji Group, conditions are predicted to be mostly clear, although isolated afternoon and evening showers may occur.

Nevertheless, meteorologists have issued warnings regarding the likelihood of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in the afternoons or evenings over both Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. The potential for localized heavy downpours raises concerns about flash flooding, specifically in low-lying areas that are prone to flooding.

Residents are urged to stay alert and keep up-to-date with weather reports as situations evolve. Preparedness and vigilance remain crucial during this period of changing weather conditions.
