Stephen Curry Begins a New Chapter Beyond Under Armour

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry was spotted warming up in the iconic “Mambacita” Nike Kobe 6 sneakers ahead of the Warriors’ road game against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday. This sighting comes on the heels of Curry’s recent departure from Under Armour, a brand he had partnered with since 2013.

Curry’s relationship with Under Armour has been noteworthy; he helped launch the Curry Brand in 2020 and signed an extension with the company in 2023. However, after nearly a decade of collaboration, the two have decided to part ways, a move that appears to have been made amicably. Under Armour will continue to promote the Curry 13, which is set to be the final sneaker under the Curry Brand x Under Armour collaboration and is expected to release in February 2026.

Curry’s connection to Under Armour was financially significant as well—when he resigned with the brand, he received 8.8 million shares of Under Armour stock, valued at around $75 million at the time. In addition to his role as a player, he also served as president of the Curry Brand, adding more weight to his influence within the company.

Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank expressed optimism for both parties, suggesting that this shift allows each to focus on their strengths. “This move lets two strong teams do what they do best,” Plank said. He noted that Under Armour would concentrate on innovation and performance for athletes, while the Curry Brand could carve out its own distinct path moving forward.

As both Curry and Under Armour embark on new chapters, the future looks promising for the iconic athlete as he explores new opportunities while continuing to inspire on the court.
