SpaceX Notches 150th Launch of the Year as Starlink Expands

SpaceX marked a significant achievement with the successful launch of 29 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit on Saturday, November 22, 2025. The Falcon 9 rocket took off from the Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida at 2:53 a.m. EST, marking the company’s 150th launch of the year.

The mission reached a successful milestone with the deployment of the satellites occurring one hour and five minutes after liftoff. SpaceX proudly announced the completion of this launch via social media, confirming the successful deployment of the Group 6-79 Starlink satellites.

The Falcon 9’s first stage, designated Booster B1080, made a remarkable return to Earth, achieving its ninth successful landing and recovery on the droneship “A Shortfall of Gravitas” located in the Atlantic Ocean. This consistency reflects SpaceX’s dedication to reusability in aerospace technology.

With this latest addition, the Starlink network has expanded to include over 9,000 active satellites out of more than 10,400 launched since the program began in 2019, as reported by satellite tracker Jonathan McDowell. This expansion is crucial as SpaceX continues to work on enhancing global broadband internet connectivity.

This launch also holds significance as it marks the 568th flight of the Falcon 9 rocket since its inception in 2010, solidifying SpaceX’s position as a leader in the space industry. The continual success of their missions not only showcases technological advancements but also raises hope for improved internet access around the globe.
