Shoppers are gearing up for a bustling Black Friday at various malls throughout Southern California, including the Citadel Outlets in Commerce and the Glendale Galleria. With the holiday shopping season officially underway, these popular retail destinations are preparing to attract a significant crowd as consumers look for special gifts and enticing deals.
The Citadel Outlets made a head start, opening its doors at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving night and planning to remain open until 11 p.m. on Friday, setting the stage for an all-night shopping experience. Meanwhile, the Glendale Galleria is also anticipating high traffic as shoppers excitedly await the moment the doors open.
“We’re going to have customers who are ready to be here at 8 a.m., 9 a.m., the second the doors open, and traffic is going to continue to flow,” shared Alex Cover from the Glendale Galleria. “It’s all going to go great.”
Despite the convenience of online shopping, many people cherish the in-store experience on Black Friday, considering it a staple of their Thanksgiving traditions. “Shopping in person gives people an immediate satisfaction,” Cover added, highlighting the unique enjoyment that comes from the in-store shopping experience.
As shoppers flood these locales, there is a noteworthy forecast from the National Retail Federation. For the first time, Americans are expected to spend over $1 trillion on holiday shopping this season, signaling a vibrant economic outlook during what is typically one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. The increasing consumer confidence bodes well for retailers and hints at a hopeful finish to the year for many businesses.
With excitement in the air and plenty of appealing deals waiting to be discovered, this Black Friday is set to be a memorable occasion for shoppers in Southern California.
