“Saturday Night Live” is currently on its third break of the season and will not air a new episode on Saturday, January 10. Fans can look forward to the show’s return on January 17, featuring host Finn Wolfhard and musical guest A$AP Rocky. This episode will be significant for Wolfhard, marking his debut on “SNL,” while A$AP Rocky will be making his second appearance, following a cameo in 2018 during an episode hosted by Donald Glover.

The 51st season of “SNL” launched on October 4, with musician Bad Bunny kicking things off as both host and musical guest. This was followed by former cast member Amy Poehler, who hosted on October 11 and returned to her comedic roots as “Weekend Update” anchor, accompanied by musical guest Role Model.

October continued to feature exciting firsts, as popular singer-songwriter Sabrina Carpenter hosted and performed on October 18 for her debut. The season continued to bring notable guests, including actor Miles Teller on November 1, and standup comedian Nikki Glaser who made her hosting debut on November 8. Glen Powell also joined the ranks of first-time hosts on November 15 with musical guest Olivia Dean, a nominee for the 2026 Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

After a brief two-week hiatus, the show returned on December 6, welcoming back Melissa McCarthy for her sixth hosting gig, followed by actor Josh O’Connor on December 13 and singer Lily Allen. The season concluded its year-end episodes with Ariana Grande returning to host for a third time, while music legend Cher performed as the evening’s guest.

This season has also seen changes within the cast, with former “Weekend Update” anchor Colin Jost continuing alongside Michael Che, and the re-emergence of familiar cast members such as Kenan Thompson, Chloe Fineman, and Mikey Day. However, “SNL” said farewell to Bowen Yang, Heidi Gardner, Ego Nwodim, Devon Walker, and several writers, including Celeste Yim and Rosebud Baker.

“Saturday Night Live” broadcasts live every Saturday at 11:30 p.m. on NBC, and fans can catch up on episodes through various streaming platforms, making it easier than ever to enjoy this beloved American comedy institution. With each episode, “SNL” continues to evolve, showcasing a vibrant mix of returning favorites and fresh talent, ensuring its place in the hearts of audiences for years to come.
