Four South American nationals and two local individuals remain in police custody following their arrest in connection with the seizure of over 100 bags of cocaine. Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro confirmed that the suspects have not yet been formally charged as investigations continue.
The arrests took place during a drug raid near Vatia Wharf in Tavua on Friday morning. Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu stated that the operation was carried out by members of the Criminal Investigations Division (CID), the Serious Organised Crime and Intelligence Department (SOCID), and the Western Division Taskforce. He emphasized that the success of this operation was the result of a collaborative effort between local and international law enforcement agencies.
