At the recent Southern Eastern Film Critics Association (SEFCA) awards, “Sinners” and “One Battle After Another” emerged as the major winners, with six and three accolades, respectively. “One Battle After Another” clinched top honors, taking home awards for Best Film, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor, awarded to Benicio Del Toro. Meanwhile, “Sinners” celebrated a successful night, with accolades going to Ryan Coogler for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay, as well as Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan, alongside wins for Ensemble, Cinematography, and Score.

The comprehensive list of winners highlights the standout performances and productions of the past year. The top ten films recognized include:

Jordan earned the Best Actor award for his standout performance in “Sinners,” with Ethan Hawke as the runner-up for his work in “Blue Moon.” Jessie Buckley claimed the Best Actress award for her role in “Hamnet,” while Rose Byrne was recognized as a runner-up for “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You.”

In supporting roles, Benicio Del Toro’s performance in “One Battle After Another” garnered him Best Supporting Actor, with Sean Penn also from the same film as the runner-up. Amy Madigan took home Best Supporting Actress for her work in “Weapons,” and Teyana Taylor was acknowledged as a runner-up for her role in “One Battle After Another.”

Ryan Coogler’s triumph continued with the Best Director award for “Sinners,” pushing forward his creative vision with Paul Thomas Anderson as the runner-up for “One Battle After Another.” The Best Original Screenplay went to Coogler as well, edging out Joaquim Trier and Eskil Vogt for “Sentimental Value.”

Additional accolades were given for Best Documentary to “The Perfect Neighbor,” Best Animated Film to “KPop Demon Hunters,” and Best Foreign Language Film to “It Was Just an Accident.” The technical categories saw Autumn Arkapaw recognized for Best Cinematography in “Sinners,” and Ludwig Goransson won for Best Score, with Jonny Greenwood as the runner-up for “One Battle After Another.”
