A group of villagers from Savulotu in Ra recently made a successful trip to the Lautoka Municipal Market, where they paid $400 for transportation to sell their farm produce. Ane Taufa Rabulewa expressed joy over the opportunity to return to the city’s main market, highlighting their participation since Monday.
The villagers offered a variety of fresh produce, including vegetables, dalo, cucumber, rourou, chilies, and eggplants, which attracted numerous customers. Ms. Rabulewa mentioned their satisfaction with the sales and shared their plans to return home after a fruitful market experience.
As they prepare to head back to Savulotu for the Christmas celebrations, she extended warm wishes for a blessed Christmas and a prosperous New Year to everyone. This positive experience underscores the importance of local farmers engaging with urban markets, providing fresh produce while fostering community connections during the holiday season.
