Sadie Sink, known for her role as Max Mayfield in Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things, and Noah Jupe from A Quiet Place, are poised to make their West End stage debuts in an upcoming production of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. This highly anticipated adaptation, directed by the acclaimed Robert Icke, will be staged at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London from March 16 to June 6 next year.

Sink, whose impressive resume includes a Critic’s Choice nomination for her performance in Darren Aronofsky’s The Whale and a Tony Award nomination for her role in John Proctor Is the Villain, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “I was a Broadway kid, so I’ve always dreamed about doing a show in the West End. To get to do that in one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays under Rob’s direction with Noah will be such an exciting challenge.” She also anticipates her future role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Noah Jupe, who has made a name for himself with performances in films such as Honey Boy and Ford v Ferrari, echoed Sink’s sentiments. He remarked, “Theatre is something I’ve always been intrigued by. It seems like such a challenging and rewarding experience for an actor. So I was very excited to hear about this project. The combination of Romeo, Rob and Sadie is an opportunity you simply cannot turn down.” Jupe will also take on the role of Hamlet in Chloe Zhao’s upcoming film Hamnet.

Icke, bringing his acclaimed vision to the stage, noted the play’s enduring power, saying, “This is one of the plays I’ve returned to again and again, and the opportunity to tackle it in London with two wonderful young actors is hugely exciting. It’s an explosive play, filled with heat and life, which confronts us with the fragility of our lives and the momentousness of every last second. I can’t wait to get started.”

The creative team supporting Icke includes set and costume designer Hildegard Bechtler, lighting designer Jon Clark, sound designer Tom Gibbons, and video designer Ash J. Woodward. More casting details and information about the creative team will be announced in the future.

This collaboration between rising stars and a seasoned director promises to deliver a fresh and dynamic take on the classic tragedy, inspiring excitement among theatre enthusiasts and offering a unique experience for London’s vibrant stage scene.
