Rondale Moore, a former NFL wide receiver, has tragically passed away at the age of 25. The Floyd County coroner in Kentucky confirmed the news, stating that an autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.

Moore’s former head coach at Purdue, Jeff Brohm, expressed his grief in a heartfelt statement, remembering Moore as a competitive spirit with an unmatched work ethic. Brohm highlighted Moore’s vibrant personality, saying, “We all loved Rondale and we loved his smile and competitive edge that always wanted to please everyone he came in contact with. We offer all of our thoughts and prayers to Rondale and his family.”

Despite facing significant challenges in his career due to consecutive season-ending knee injuries, Moore made a name for himself as a three-year starter at Purdue, earning consensus All-American honors as a freshman in 2018. He was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft with the 49th overall pick. His rookie contract was valued at nearly $7 million, including a sizable signing bonus. Moore was later traded to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for quarterback Desmond Ridder.

In 2023, Moore managed to bounce back and played in all 17 games for the Cardinals, achieving 40 receptions for 352 yards receiving, as well as 28 carries for 178 yards rushing, contributing two touchdowns throughout the season.

As friends, teammates, and fans grieve his loss, thoughts and prayers are extended to Moore and his family during this difficult time. His competitive spirit and dedication to the game will not be forgotten.
