A new Military Chef’s Course was launched on Tuesday at the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Joint Task Force Command headquarters located at Blackrock Camp in Nadi, representing a significant advancement in regional defense collaboration. The training program is set to run from February 3 to March 6, 2026, and is being supported by the British High Commission in Fiji, with instruction provided by experts from both the British Armed Forces and the New Zealand Defence Force.

This initiative underscores the deep-rooted defense partnerships that Fiji maintains with both the United Kingdom and New Zealand. The course has attracted 25 participants from various RFMF units, with the goal of enhancing culinary skills within the military, a critical component of troop welfare and operational readiness.

During the opening ceremony, Deputy Joint Task Force Command Saula Tuilevuka urged the attendees to seize this valuable opportunity and effectively implement their newly acquired skills within their military responsibilities. Tuilevuka also expressed gratitude to the British High Commission and defense partners for their ongoing support in enhancing the capabilities of the RFMF, reinforcing the military’s dedication to fostering further collaborations and future engagements.

This program reflects a positive stride towards building a well-equipped and skilled military force, ensuring that personnel are better prepared for the diverse challenges they may face in their duties.
