Stratum Construction Rewa celebrated a significant milestone by winning the 2025 FMF Inter District Championship, marking their first title for all the players and officials involved. The championship match, held at the 4R Stadium Govind Park in Ba, saw Rewa triumph over RC Manubhai Ba with a narrow 1-0 victory.
This victory is particularly notable as it brings Rewa their first IDC title since 2010, when the team, known as the Delta Tigers, last took home the trophy. That previous win was marked by a strong squad that included notable players like Marika Rodu and Epeli Saukuru, highlighting a long-awaited revival for the team.
A special moment during the final was when veteran player Tevita Waranivalu, despite sustaining an injury in the closing minutes of the match, expressed his pride in achieving this title. “For me, this is my first IDC title, the last IDC Rewa won was in 2010 and I was in form four. After that, I started playing for Rewa and lifted several titles, but this is my first IDC,” he remarked.
Rewa’s victory in this tense final matches the sixth time the two teams have faced off in the 87-year history of the tournament, underscoring a fierce rivalry. In other tournament results, Rakiraki took home the Senior title, while Tavua claimed the Premier IDC trophies.
This historic victory not only revitalizes a club that has seen challenges in recent years but also energizes its fanbase, reaffirming the potential for future successes and the growing popularity of football in Fiji. The celebration of Rewa’s triumph reflects the community’s spirit and fosters enthusiasm for the sport locally.
