Fincantieri’s shipyard in Marghera, Italy, has recently marked a significant milestone with the float-out of a new luxury cruise ship for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ Regent Seven Seas Cruises. This vessel, named Seven Seas Prestige, is the first in a new class of ultra-luxury cruise ships, showcasing the ongoing growth within this segment and highlighting the enduring partnership between Regent and the shipyard.

When completed, the Seven Seas Prestige will weigh 76,550 gross tons and measure 257 meters (843 feet) in length. Significantly, despite being 40% larger than its predecessors, the ship will only accommodate 10% more passengers, providing a total capacity of 822 guests along with 630 crew members. This design choice results in one of the highest crew-to-passenger ratios in the cruise industry, which ensures a more personalized service for guests.

One of the standout features of Seven Seas Prestige will be the Skyview Regent Suite, set to be the largest suite ever placed on a cruise ship. Spanning nearly 9,000 square feet, this luxurious space will offer amenities such as a spa bath, a private gym, and an in-suite elevator. In total, the ship will host 411 suites, introducing four new categories to enhance guests’ experiences.

Dining options onboard will be extensive, featuring a Mediterranean concept along with 11 total dining venues, including seven specialty restaurants. This variety reflects Regent’s commitment to providing exceptional culinary experiences.

Jason Montague, chief luxury officer at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, emphasized that this new vessel is part of a strategic expansion within the luxury cruise sector. He noted that the decision underscores their confidence in the growing demand for Regent’s premium offerings and reiterates the strong collaboration with Fincantieri, grounded in a shared dedication to craftsmanship and excellence.

As the ultra-luxury segment experiences rapid expansion, highlighted by the entrance of renowned hotel brands like Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons into the cruise industry, the launch of Seven Seas Prestige marks an exciting development for Regent Seven Seas. This ship serves as a reminder of the brand’s commitment to innovation and luxury, promising unforgettable experiences for travelers seeking the pinnacle of cruise travel.
