The prolonged dry spell in the North Bay is set to come to an end this week as a series of wet weather patterns make their way into the region, starting with sporadic showers on Tuesday afternoon. Rain is expected to begin in the North Bay, with a chance of a few showers spreading south and east of the Golden Gate by day’s end.

On Wednesday morning, the region will see light rain, categorized as a Level 1 on the ABC7 Storm Impact Scale, with rainfall estimates ranging from a few hundredths to 0.20 inches.

The weather will transition to more consistent and widespread rainy conditions by Friday, which also brings an increase in wind speeds. Both Friday night and Saturday are forecasted to experience significant rainfall along with gusty winds, maintaining a Level 1 storm rating. Showers will continue into Sunday, contributing to a continued pattern of wet weather, while Monday, December 22, is also projected to see rain transitioning to showers.

Although the storms this week are currently rated at a light Level 1 on the Storm Impact Scale, forecasters caution that these rankings could shift as atmospheric conditions develop. Residents are advised to remain vigilant as they prepare for the weather changes ahead.

This forecast marks a welcome return of rain, which is essential for replenishing local water sources following weeks of dryness. The anticipated storms may positively impact the region, enhancing moisture levels and benefiting vegetation during this crucial period.
