The Las Vegas Raiders are poised to make significant changes to their coaching staff following a reported handshake agreement with Klint Kubiak, the current offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks, to become the new head coach. As the Raiders seek to strengthen their coaching team, a pressing need has emerged for a skilled offensive line coach, and they may have an excellent candidate in Jeff Stoutland. Stoutland recently announced his departure from the Philadelphia Eagles, where he spent 13 impactful years.
Expressing gratitude in a message posted on his social media account, Stoutland reflected on his journey with the Eagles, stating, “When I arrived here in 2013, I did not know what I was signing up for. I quickly learned what this city demands. But more importantly, what it gives back. The past 13 years have been the great privilege of my coaching career.” The Eagles’ decision to part ways with Stoutland aligns with broader coaching changes within the organization following their regression in performance this past season.
Despite winning the NFC East in 2025, the Eagles’ offense fell from seventh to nineteenth in points scored, culminating in an early playoff exit. Behind this downturn, coaching changes included moving on from offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, who held the position for just one year. The Eagles have since hired Sean Mannion, formerly the quarterbacks coach for the Green Bay Packers, as their new offensive coordinator.
Stoutland’s potential availability is enticing to many teams, including the Raiders, who experienced considerable struggles along their offensive line, allowing 47 sacks last season—more than any other team—and posting the third-lowest run blocking grade. The subpar performance of the offensive line heavily impacted rookie running back Ashton Jeanty’s performance.
Stoutland’s track record speaks volumes, having produced 26 Pro Bowl selections and 15 All-Pro nominations during his tenure with the Eagles. He famously developed players like Jason Kelce and Jordan Mailata, turning them into elite talents. The Raiders currently have promising young players in their offensive line, such as Jackson Powers-Johnson and DJ Glaze, who could greatly benefit from Stoutland’s expertise.
Furthermore, the Raiders have a unique prospect in Laki Tasi, a former rugby player who is part of the International Player Pathway Program, mirroring Mailata’s journey.
