A major section of Queen’s Road has been closed following the emergence of a large fissure near Semo Village, significantly impacting traffic in both directions. The collapse occurred just beyond Semo Village, prior to a series of road humps, rendering the roadway impassable for vehicles.
Eyewitnesses described the scene, noting that the entire stretch of road has caved in, posing a serious risk to motorists. Road fissures, which are deep cracks in the surface, typically result from prolonged heavy rainfall, flooding, or ground shifts that compromise the soil beneath the pavement. When the soil becomes overly saturated or erodes, such catastrophic failures can occur.
Motorists are strongly encouraged to avoid the area and delay their travel plans as access along this part of Queen’s Road is currently blocked. Local authorities are expected to act swiftly to evaluate the damage and begin repairs, with the hope that safe passage will be restored in the near future. Despite the disruption, the prompt response from authorities suggests a commitment to ensuring public safety and efficient resolution of the situation.
