The Department of Environment has announced that it has received an Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) report regarding a proposed seven-storey office and apartment complex at Lot 1, Knolly Street. This location is currently home to the headquarters of the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management. The development is being put forward by RB Patel Group Ltd.
In accordance with the Environment Management (Amendment) Act 2025, the public is encouraged to review the EIA and provide feedback within 21 working days from its release. The EIA will be available for inspection starting from 27 December 2025 at the Department of Environment headquarters located at Level 2, Bali Towers, Toorak, as well as at local Toorak and Flagstaff Police Posts.
Those wishing to submit their comments on the report must do so before the 27 January 2026 deadline. This initiative allows the community to engage actively in the decision-making processes that affect their environment and future developments in the area. Community involvement in such projects can foster a sense of ownership and responsibility, promoting positive outcomes for sustainable urban development.
