The December 2025 Pixel update, incorporating new features from Android 16 QPR2, provides crucial bug fixes and security improvements across various device functionalities, including Audio, Battery and Charging, Bluetooth, Camera, Display and Graphics, Framework, Sensors, System, Telephony, Touch, User Interface, and Wi-Fi.

Notably, this update rectifies a malfunction concerning the 80% charge limit not being consistently respected, a problem that affected several devices. In addition, some models were previously displaying a ‘?’ icon in the battery status bar, which is now resolved. The Pixel 10 series has also seen significant enhancements, with issues related to display flashing, black screens, and freezing being addressed, resulting in improved overall functionality.

The update features a noteworthy patch for security vulnerabilities, with 51 issues resolved as of December 1, 2025, followed by an additional 56 vulnerabilities fixed by December 5, 2025. These vulnerabilities ranged from “High” to “Critical” severity, ensuring users benefit from enhanced device security. A dedicated bulletin for Google devices outlined 28 additional security fixes, reinforcing the overall safety of Pixel users.

The update is applicable to a broad range of Pixel devices, each receiving specific updates consistent with their models, including devices like the Pixel 6, 7, 8, and 9 series, as well as the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet. The update also addresses various persistent issues: audio inconsistencies have been resolved, the functionality of Bluetooth connections stabilized, and camera performance has seen improvements under specific conditions.

Updates have been made to the System and User Interface as well, tackling potential instability in emergency calling functionality and ensuring seamless interaction during app switching and gesture navigation. Various fixes target UI issues, such as keyboard flickering and notification sound playback errors, enhancing overall user experience.
