Pittsburgh is set to activate five warming centers on Monday in anticipation of a severe Arctic blast, with predicted high temperatures hovering around 20 degrees. The centers will be available to the public from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. as a community resource for those needing refuge from the extreme cold.

CitiParks and the city typically initiate the opening of these warming centers when temperatures are forecasted to drop to 20 degrees or below. The following locations will serve as heating centers during this cold snap:

– Beechview Healthy Active Living Community Center, 1555 Broadway Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15216
– Greenfield Healthy Active Living Community Center, 745 Greenfield Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15217
– Homewood Healthy Active Living Community Center, 7321 Frankstown Road, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15208
– Sheraden Healthy Active Living Community Center, 720 Sherwood Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15204
– South Side Market House Healthy Active Living Community Center, 12th & Bingham Streets, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15203

Additionally, several CitiParks Recreation Centers will remain open during the following hours throughout the week to provide further support:

– Ammon Recreation Center: Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
– Arlington Recreation Center: Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
– Brookline Recreation Center: Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
– Jefferson Recreation Center: Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
– Magee Recreation Center: Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
– Ormsby Recreation Center: Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
