Friday night promises to deliver favorable weather conditions for high school football playoff games, with fans and players alike expected to enjoy a pleasant evening. However, the weather outlook shifts dramatically for Saturday, particularly for the much-anticipated Pitt/Notre Dame game.

According to Jason Frazier from the National Weather Service, attendees can expect mostly dry weather during the game. However, later in the afternoon, conditions are likely to deteriorate significantly. Frazier warns of the potential for gusty winds, showers, and heavy rain beginning around 5 or 6 p.m., when a cold front moves into the area. Wind gusts could reach between 30 to 40 mph, so fans should be prepared for blustery conditions.

For those heading to Acrisure Stadium to support their teams, dressing in layers is strongly recommended. While umbrellas are allowed in the stadium, it’s important to note that they cannot be opened in the seating area, so fans should plan accordingly.

On Saturday, a high of 64 degrees is expected, but the temperature is forecasted to drop significantly to around 49 degrees by Sunday, marking a noticeable change as the weekend progresses. As such, attendees should remain vigilant and ready for shifting weather, especially as the day’s events unfold.
