Alongside him stands his wife, Ann Michael Maye, who has quickly garnered attention and admiration, earning the affectionate title of “the First Lady of New England.”
Ann Michael Maye, whose full name is actually “Ann Michael” and not just “Ann,” has a strong ties to North Carolina—much like her husband. The couple began their romance during middle school, and their bond has only grown stronger through high school at William A. Hough High School and later at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
In her high school years, Ann Michael was a multi-talented athlete, serving as the captain of the varsity softball, field hockey, and cheerleading teams. She was also the president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, showcasing her leadership and commitment to sports. “She’s a great athlete,” commented Drake. “She beats me at a lot of sports.” Football runs in her family as well; her father played at Wofford College, and her brother played alongside Drake at UNC.
Ann Michael graduated from UNC last year with a Bachelor of Business Administration and was also an active member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. The couple exchanged vows in 2025, with Drake recently expressing the merits of marriage to his teammates. “It’s one of the best things I’ve experienced in my life. There’s no better feeling than coming home to a wife that loves you and cares for you,” he stated, emphasizing his positive view on young marriages.
In addition to her sports background, Ann Michael has ventured into the culinary world. After partaking in a holiday baking challenge called “Bakemas” in December, she recently launched her own baking show, “Beyond Bakemas,” with NBC Sports Boston. She delights her followers by regularly sharing recipes on her social media platforms, showcasing her cooking talents.
