Panarin and Zibanejad Lead Rangers Past Bruins in a Dominant Win

Mika Zibanejad and Artemi Panarin led the New York Rangers to a decisive 6-2 victory over the Boston Bruins on Friday evening. Zibanejad netted two power-play goals, while Panarin contributed one goal and a staggering three assists, helping the Rangers secure their third consecutive win.

The Rangers showcased a strong offensive performance, with other goals coming from Carson Soucy, Alexis Lafreniere, and Vladislav Gavrikov. Goaltender Igor Shesterkin made 19 saves, ensuring a solid defensive effort for New York.

The Bruins were missing key forwards David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha due to injuries, and their absence was felt as Boston struggled against the relentless Rangers. Coach Marco Sturm reported that both players are considered day-to-day. Despite the setback, Morgan Geekie managed to score his 18th goal of the season, and Casey Mittelstadt added another goal in the third period, marking his return to the lineup after a nine-game injury absence.

The Rangers dominated the early stages of the game, leading 4-0 by the end of the second period. Panarin opened the scoring just 3:28 into the first period and assisted on Soucy’s second goal at 12:02. Zibanejad’s two goals were scored in quick succession during a middle period power play, following a double minor assessed to Boston’s Hampus Lindholm for high sticking. Lafreniere capped the game with an empty-netter, bringing the score to 5-2 with just over three minutes remaining.

With this victory, the Rangers improved their away record to 11-4-1 this season. Looking ahead, the Rangers will face off against Atlantic Division leader Tampa Bay on Saturday, while the Bruins will host the Detroit Red Wings the same night. This suggests an exciting weekend ahead for both teams as they seek to build momentum in the league.
