Byron Donalds, who has the endorsement of former President Donald Trump. Fishback’s candidacy was announced on November 24, 2025, and he wasted no time in criticizing Donalds’ congressional record.
In his announcement video, Fishback echoed sentiments from Governor Ron DeSantis, who cannot seek re-election due to term limits. He has committed to eliminating property taxes and intends to address the H-1B visa program, which facilitates the hiring of foreign workers with specialized skills. “Florida is our home, America is our birthright, and we will never let them steal it from us,” he declared, emphasizing his commitment to combatting both legal and illegal immigration.
Fishback’s campaign is characterized by strong rhetoric focused on immigration policies and a controversial defense of Florida’s historical narrative, which resonates with a portion of the Republican base. He stated, “I’m a proud American who will never apologize for our history,” while showcasing a Confederate monument in Jackson County, Florida.
