FIJI Link has welcomed its newest ATR aircraft to Nadi, marking an exciting development in its fleet following an extensive delivery journey that spanned eight countries. The aircraft, which took off from Toulouse, France, successfully landed in Fiji on January 7 after traveling through Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, India, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and the Solomon Islands.

Fiji Airways has emphasized that this addition represents more than just a fleet renewal; it’s a pivotal advancement in enhancing both domestic and regional connectivity. Athil Narayan, Chief Fiji Link and Cargo Operations Officer, remarked, “This new ATR is more than a fleet renewal. Every new aircraft allows us to further strengthen domestic and regional connectivity; it brings people together and creates opportunities for connection, trade, and shared experiences across our islands and the Pacific.”

The new ATR aircraft is designed to offer improved fuel efficiency and enhanced performance in island environments, as well as greater comfort for passengers. Fiji Link plans to deploy the aircraft on essential domestic routes and is currently making final preparations for its integration into service.

This development not only highlights Fiji Link’s commitment to enhancing travel within the Pacific region but also serves to improve connectivity for both residents and tourists, fostering increased trade and tourism opportunities across the islands.
