Netherlands Star Justin Kluivert Ruled Out of Lithuania Clash with Injury

Justin Kluivert started for the Netherlands during their recent match against Poland at Stadion Narodowy, where the teams played to a 1-1 draw. Kluivert contributed to the team’s effort, emerging on the field after Memphis Depay equalized shortly after halftime, following Jakub Kamiński’s opening goal.

However, Kluivert had to be substituted in the 74th minute of the match, and the Netherlands national team has since announced that he sustained an injury during the game. A statement shared via social media on Sunday confirmed that Kluivert will miss the upcoming match against Lithuania as a result. The statement noted, “Justin Kluivert sustained an injury in Friday’s match against Poland. This means he will be unable to play against Lithuania tomorrow. The midfielder returned to his club, Bournemouth, this morning. Take care, Justin!”

This season, Kluivert has already made 11 appearances for Bournemouth, despite facing injury setbacks in preseason. He has started in four league matches, including a challenging game against Aston Villa, which ended in a 4-0 loss prior to the international break.

The injury comes as a disappointment not only for Kluivert but also for the Dutch national side, which is counting on the midfielder’s skills as they prepare for their next fixtures. Fans and teammates will be hoping for a swift recovery as Kluivert aims to return to full fitness and continue contributing to his club and country.
