Nightly Rewa Bridge Closure in Nausori, Fiji for Upgrades

Nausori’s Rewa Bridge to Close at Night for Week-Long Upgrade

The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has announced a temporary road closure surrounding the Rewa Bridge in Nausori to facilitate essential upgrade works. The closure will be in effect nightly from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, starting Thursday, November 6, 2025, and is anticipated to last for seven days, ending on November 13, 2025.

During this period, two lanes on the bridge at the Pacific Energy Service Station end will be closed to accommodate construction activities; however, limited traffic will still be allowed to cross the bridge. The FRA urges motorists to plan their routes accordingly and expect potential delays during these hours. Access to and from Nausori will remain open despite the construction.

To promote safety and ensure the smooth flow of traffic, traffic management personnel will be deployed, along with appropriate signage throughout the work zone. This initiative reflects the FRA’s ongoing commitment to improving road safety and infrastructure across the region. While these roadworks may cause temporary inconvenience, they are vital for enhancing safety and operational efficiency, ultimately benefiting the community through a more reliable transportation network in Fiji.

Previously, the FRA has engaged in road maintenance and improvement projects in major areas such as Suva, with work schedules strategically planned to reduce disruptions, often carried out during both day and night shifts. These continued efforts signify a commitment to creating safer driving conditions and enriching the overall travel experience for all road users. The cooperation and understanding of the community during these upgrade processes are appreciated as they work towards long-term benefits in road performance and safety. The focus on developing infrastructure indicates a positive stride towards a safer, more efficient transportation system in Fiji.
