Police Constable Lavenia Marama, a dedicated mother of two, proudly celebrated her achievements as she graduated from the Police Passing Out Parade at Nasova Ground in Suva. The event, which took place on Friday, marked a significant milestone in her life after enduring a challenging yet rewarding training journey.

Reflecting on her experiences, Constable Marama described the rigorous training process as particularly tough, especially while balancing her responsibilities as a mother. “Today is a grateful and unforgettable day for me,” she expressed, highlighting the joy of reaching this pivotal point in her career.

Credit for her perseverance goes to her unwavering faith and a solid support system. “My kids were beside me the whole way,” she shared, emphasizing that they are her greatest motivation. Constable Marama, who previously spent over two and a half years in the private sector, received the call that she had been selected as a police recruit.

Now that she has officially joined the Fiji Police Force, Constable Marama is committed to serving her community with integrity and dedication. When encouraged to share a message with other single mothers and young women pursuing their dreams, she offered simple yet profound advice: “No matter what you are facing, don’t give up. Even as a single mother, there are opportunities around you. Just walk towards them and achieve your goals, for yourself and for your children.”

As she embarks on her new role, Constable Marama expressed her gratitude towards those who supported her throughout her journey and extended her best wishes to the public for the upcoming festive season.
