Participants can choose to run or walk in a 5K, 10K, or half marathon event slated for January 17 at 7:30 a.m. on the scenic Trinity River Trail in Fort Worth. Additionally, “Reactivate Dallas – MLK Fest 2026” encourages volunteers to enhance their local environment through cleanup efforts in the Fair Park neighborhood. This event begins at 9 a.m. on January 17 at 2922 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, culminating in a lunchtime gathering featuring live music, food, and inspiring guest speakers, all free for participants.
The 33rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration will take place on January 19 at 6 p.m. at Marcus High School Arena in Flower Mound. This year’s theme, “Better Together: Making the Dream a Reality,” will showcase student artwork honoring Dr. King, with participants competing for a cash prize. Attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods and dried foods for donation.
Lastly, families can enjoy the MLK Day of Service Festival, a free event sponsored by the Dallas Wings. Scheduled for January 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Arlington City Center Plaza, the festival will feature library storytime and performances from the AISD Step Teams, Symphony Arlington, and Innovative Dance Inc.
