The Australian contingent made a strong impression during the second round of the prestigious $20 million Signature event in Los Angeles, as Min Woo Lee showcased his stellar form with a remarkable six-under-par 65. This performance not only supported fellow Australian Adam Scott, who delivered an impressive eight-under 63, but also highlighted the dynamic presence of the Australians in the tournament.

Scott, a two-time champion, nearly shattered the course record as he surged into fourth place at the halfway mark, standing at nine under after 36 holes. He trails the co-leaders Marco Penge and Jacob Bridgeman, who both recorded impressive scores of 64. In a noteworthy display, Rory McIlroy also emerged as a contender, holding the top spot on the leaderboard at 11 under after carding a second-round 66. The competition at Riviera Country Club is heating up as players strive for glory, with Scott aiming for his first title since 2020.

During his milestone 1500th round on the PGA Tour, Scott began his round in extraordinary fashion, reaching nine under through just 13 holes. Although his final four holes saw him post four consecutive pars, followed by a bogey, he remained upbeat about his round. “I have a slight sour taste after coming off the last there, but it’s probably my best round out here,” Scott reflected. The seasoned player expressed his desire to capitalize on his current form, given that he has been battling inconsistent putting performance.

On the other hand, Lee, who finished as a joint runner-up at Pebble Beach just a week ago, is feeling optimistic about his game with the Masters, the first major championship of the year, just six weeks away. “Back-to-back weeks playing the most iconic places in America, I just had good vibes coming in trending,” Lee said, affirming the positive trajectory of his play. He noted that despite some fluctuations in his chipping, overall, his game is settling into a solid rhythm.

Lee’s confidence stems from a mix of recent equipment changes and an evolving mindset as he strives to put together four strong rounds. “I just feel a lot more confident in my game,” he stated. As the tournament progresses, both players are looking to build on their performances and maintain their status as serious competitors in the hunt for victory. The excitement is palpable, and fans are eager to see if the Australians can clinch a coveted win in Los Angeles.
