A quick shift in weather is expected across the Mid-South as the work and school week resumes. On Tuesday, residents can anticipate variably to mostly cloudy skies and a chance for passing showers, with temperatures reaching the middle to upper 60s. The night will bring clearer conditions, but areas of fog may develop late, leading to lows in the 40s.

As we move into Wednesday, a stalling weather boundary will influence temperatures across the region. Those north of Interstate 40 can expect highs in the 50s, while areas to the south may reach into the 60s and near 70 degrees, all under predominantly cloudy skies. This boundary is expected to shift further northward as the week progresses, with nighttime temperatures settling in the 50s.

Looking ahead at the extended forecast, a significant storm system is set to move into the Mid-South later in the week. Warm breezes will drive temperatures up into the upper 60s and lower 70s by Thursday. As the system approaches, storms are anticipated to develop to the west late Thursday and into early Friday, with some of these storms potentially reaching severe levels. The timing of these storms may impact Friday’s weather before they begin to taper off, leading to a cooler and more seasonable weekend. Following this period, temperatures are expected to return to near or slightly below average highs for the following week.
