A recent report suggests that Microsoft has strategic plans for its major game releases, eyeing the latter half of 2026 for “Gears of War E-Day” and the summer for “Halo: Combat Evolved.” This timeline comes as the gaming community eagerly anticipates these titles, with Microsoft’s desire to avoid conflicting launch dates with the much-anticipated “Grand Theft Auto VI,” set to release on November 19, 2026.
The information was shared by Tom Warren at The Verge, who indicates that Microsoft is not only planning these launches carefully but is also keeping a close eye on the release timings to maximize player engagement and market presence. Warren mentions that, while there are solid plans in place, adjustments to these dates are not uncommon in the video game industry.
In addition to the aforementioned titles, the report also highlights that the “Fallout 3 Remake” is in “active development.” Bethesda aims for this remake to meet the high-quality standards established by the “Oblivion Remake,” which was praised for its adherence to the original game while delivering enhanced graphics and mechanics.
Moreover, Double Fine’s “The Kiln” is reportedly targeting an April release, and fans can expect new content for “Starfield” to be unveiled soon. However, as Warren points out, the ever-changing landscape of game development means that release dates are subject to change.
If these anticipated release windows prove to be accurate, Microsoft appears to have an exciting year ahead. Along with Fable, which is set to launch in the upcoming autumn following a dedicated showcase at an Xbox Developer Direct, there is also “Forza Horizon 6,” slated for a May 19 release, promising an enticing gaming experience set in Japan.
As the gaming community awaits these developments, there is a palpable sense of excitement around the upcoming lineup from Microsoft, which could redefine the gaming landscape in 2026.
