Mick Foley Biopic in the Works as Paul Walter Hauser Eyes Lead Role

WWE’s “Hardcore Legend,” Mick Foley, is set to have his life story told in a biopic, with actor Paul Walter Hauser in talks to portray him. Foley, who made his WWE debut in 1986 as “Jack Foley,” is best remembered for his memorable alter ego “Mankind,” introduced a decade later. Throughout his career, he showcased the “Three Faces of Foley,” which also included the wild personalities of Cactus Jack and Dude Love. Known for his extreme and hard-hitting matches, Foley became a wrestling icon through battles against top stars like The Undertaker, Triple H, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Despite officially retiring in 2000, Foley made sporadic returns to the WWE, thrilling fans with performances against legends such as Randy Orton, Edge, and Ric Flair. His contributions to the sport solidified his status as one of the most significant figures in wrestling history, making him a fitting subject for a biopic.

During a recent appearance on “Insight with Chris Van Vliet,” Hauser revealed that discussions are underway involving producers for the film. He emphasized that Foley’s legacy extends beyond just the infamous Hell in a Cell match at King of the Ring 1998, where he was famously thrown from the cage by The Undertaker. “I want to do a Mick Foley limited series, do like a 4 to 6 episode thing, and be able to tell the story a little more fully,” Hauser expressed, highlighting the need to portray the depth of Foley’s career and life.

Additionally, Hauser mentioned that he has also been approached to play other wrestling figures, but is particularly focused on the opportunity to bring Foley’s story to life. Since retiring from in-ring action in 2012, Foley was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013. At the age of 60, he has acknowledged facing the consequences of his intense wrestling style but reports that he is managing well.

As Foley’s biopic is in the works, fans are eager to see how his multifaceted career and lasting impact on the wrestling world will be depicted, hoping to honor the legacy of one of the most beloved figures in sports entertainment.
