BALTIMORE — As the new year begins, three lucky players in Maryland are celebrating a windfall that could change their lives, as they enter 2024 as millionaires.
One of the winners purchased their ticket nearly a month ago on December 8, at a 7-Eleven store located at 1801 Reisterstown Road in Pikesville. This ticket was part of the Lottery’s Holiday Raffle, and as of now, the prize remains unclaimed since the winner has not yet come forward.
In a heartwarming twist, a Christmas Eve surprise unfolded in Delmar, along Maryland’s Eastern Shore. A nurse, while shopping at the Exxon station at 8600 Ocean Highway for scratch-off tickets to gift her friends, treated herself to one ticket as well. To her astonishment, that ticket turned out to be worth a whopping $2 million. Expressing her disbelief, she recounted, “I took out my phone and scanned the ticket with the app. When I saw it was real, I just started shaking. I was in total shock.”
Just days later, on January 4, another winner was revealed when someone purchased a $1 million winning Monopoly Properties ticket at the Lake Forest Exxon located at 448 North Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg. This prize also remains unclaimed as of January 5.
Authorities remind winners to sign the back of their tickets to ensure their claims are secure. Draw game tickets are valid for 182 days following the drawing date, while FAST PLAY tickets remain valid for 182 days after the purchase date.
This wave of winners not only brings excitement for the individuals involved but also highlights the hopeful potential of lottery games, offering dreams of financial security and new opportunities.
