“Children are so scheduled; what art does in terms of healing is it gives them back control,” she said, showcasing the empowering focus of this new area. Importantly, the space is designated as a no-doctor zone, ensuring that kids can enjoy playtime free from the stresses of medical routines.
Since losing her husband in August 2024, Thomas has gradually returned to public life. Her recent appearances include attending the Family Equality’s Night at Pier Sixty in New York City, her first post-Dunahue outing where she was met with warmth and support from her community.
Donahue, who was 88 at the time of his death, had spent his final moments surrounded by family, including Thomas. In a touching message on Instagram following his passing, she expressed her gratitude for the support from fans and spoke about the deep connection they shared.
