Mark Chesnutt is currently on the mend after experiencing a sinus infection, as confirmed by his publicist. Fans in Oxford, AL, were concerned when the country singer had to halt his performance just three songs in on February 12th. Unfortunately, he was unable to continue the show.

Due to his illness, Chesnutt also canceled a scheduled concert at the Miller Theater in Augusta, Georgia on February 13th, and postponed another show on February 14th at the Paul A. Johnston Auditorium in Smithfield, North Carolina. The Oxford Performing Arts Center released a statement regarding the situation, stating, “Due to sudden illness, the artist was unable to complete tonight’s performance. We are hopeful to reschedule the concert and share a new date soon.” Ticket holders were assured they would be contacted with further information, including options for refunds for those unable to attend the rescheduled performance.

Many fans expressed their concern for Chesnutt’s health, particularly given his history of medical challenges. He suffered a severe back injury in 2021, which required surgery, followed by heart issues that led to emergency procedures in 2024. In May 2025, Chesnutt openly discussed his struggles with alcohol, attributing part of his battle to managing pain from his ongoing back problems. He noted, “I had to quit drinking or die… I’m back and doing better than ever.”

Despite a brief hospital stay for health complications in October 2025, Chesnutt has recently focused on his well-being, resulting in more performances than cancellations. The concert at the Paul A. Johnston Auditorium is now set to take place on March 29, 2026, although a new date for the show at the Oxford Performing Arts Center has yet to be announced.

The resilience demonstrated by Chesnutt amidst his health struggles is encouraging for fans, as they continue to rally behind him during this challenging time.
