Madison Chock, a Team USA ice skater with strong connections to Hawaii, is poised to impress judges once again as she prepares for her fourth Winter Olympics in Italy alongside her husband and skating partner, Evan Bates.

Chock expressed her excitement about returning to the Olympic venue, noting the impressive renovations that have taken place since their last appearance. “We have been in this venue before, but seeing it again remodeled has been amazing,” she shared. “The Olympic rings everywhere, and then experiencing everything with our teammates and a lot of first-time Olympians has been so special to see the Olympic magic through their eyes.”

Beginning her ice skating journey at just five years old, Chock draws inspiration from her roots. Her father, Wesley, hails from Hawaii Island, while her mother, Barbara, has a rich background as a singer and hula dancer for the iconic Don Ho. This Hawaiian heritage contributes to Chock’s unique balance and agility on the ice, attributes she also taps into when surfing.

The couple recently made headlines after clinching gold at the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022. With their successful history and seasoned experience, Chock and Bates aim to carry their momentum into this upcoming competition.

The 2026 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony is set to air on KHNL on Friday, February 6, starting at 9 a.m., with an encore presentation at 6 p.m. As they embark on this exciting journey, the pair continues to embody the spirit of perseverance and excellence, serving as inspiration for both seasoned athletes and newcomers alike.
