On Christmas Day, the Los Angeles Lakers will face off against the Houston Rockets, marking a special occasion for Luka Doncic as he debuts his fifth signature basketball shoe, the Jordan Luka 5, during this highly anticipated nationally televised game. The unveiling of Doncic’s new sneakers came after he teased fans with a captivating short film titled “Bad Luka, Nice Shoes,” which was shared on Instagram just a day prior.

The Jordan Luka 5 will be officially available for purchase starting at 10:00 a.m. EST on Thursday, January 8, for $135 in adult sizes, both online at Jordan.com and select retail stores. The initial release features the eye-catching “Venom” colorway, showcasing an illusion green design accented with hints of black.

Doncic’s previous footwear, the Luka 4, was launched during a notable game against the Dallas Mavericks last season, and its success encouraged Jordan Brand to explore colorways inspired by Doncic’s heritage and personal interests. The Luka 5 builds upon this foundation with innovative technology designed for players who exhibit a versatile style of play. Key features include a full-length Zoom Strobel for enhanced propulsion, as well as an ISOband that improves control on the court.

Reflecting on the development of the Luka 5, Doncic expressed, “Working with Jordan Brand on the Luka 5 was about making something that fits my game and keeps evolving with me. The full-length Zoom Strobel and ISOband give me that extra pop and control so I can attack from any spot on the floor. Every time I lace them up, I know I’m ready to go.”

This season, fans can look forward to hearing more from Doncic as he embraces the campaign for the Luka 5. Jordan Brand aims to showcase his charismatic on-court persona alongside his appealing off-court character. In a playful twist, Doncic will be releasing heartfelt apology letters to those he’s wronged, paired with a complimentary pair of the new Luka 5, highlighting the lighter side of his competitive spirit.

The campaign will also feature the engaging short “Bad Luka, Nice Shoes,” which brings the theme of Doncic’s unapologetic confidence to life. It includes familiar faces such as Adrian “Woj” Wojnarowski and Boban Marjanović, celebrating Doncic’s unique flair.

In addition to the live game and the sneaker launch, the NBA continues to generate buzz with new releases and collaborations, such as the three new colorways of Nike Kobe Offcourt slides, and the unveiling of Kevin Durant’s first signature Nike basketball shoe. With the 2025 Nike Basketball Christmas collection on the horizon, fans are set for an exciting season of basketball and footwear innovation.
