Luis Díaz Hit With Three-Game Champions League Ban as Bayern Pursue Appeal

Luis Díaz and Bayern Munich face difficult news as it has been announced that due to his red card in the match against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, he has been suspended for three games. This means the Colombian forward will be unavailable for Bayern’s next three matches in the European tournament’s group stage.

International media reports indicate that Bayern is already making moves to appeal the ruling in an effort to lessen the severity of the suspension. However, as it stands, Luis Díaz will not participate in any Champions League action until January 2026.

The first match that Díaz will miss is particularly significant, as it is against Arsenal on November 26. This clash features two teams vying for the top of the table, making it a critical encounter that could have major implications for their standings.

Following the Arsenal match, Bayern will host Sporting Lisbon on December 9, where they will come up against Luis Javier Suárez. This match marks the sixth round of the group stage and concludes Bayern’s Champions League action for 2025.

Bayern will then return to the European competition on January 21 against Union SG from Belgium. However, Díaz will still be ineligible for this match as well, marking the third consecutive game he will miss if the current decision is upheld.

As it stands, Luis Díaz is set to make his Champions League return on January 28 against PSV Eindhoven, which will be the final matchup of the group stage, taking place simultaneously at 3:00 PM Colombian time. The situation presents a challenging time for the talented player, but there remains hope that an appeal may result in a reduced suspension, allowing him to rejoin the team sooner than expected.
