LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The excitement is palpable as game day has returned for the Louisville men’s basketball team, who are poised to bounce back from a recent loss to Duke. The Cardinals are set to face Boston College in their third consecutive home game, with tip-off scheduled for 12:00 p.m. EST.

As the game approaches, the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) has released an updated availability report outlining which players will be on the court. Unfortunately for Louisville, standout true freshman point guard Mikel Brown Jr. is confirmed to be “out,” marking his fifth straight missed game due to a lower back injury sustained against Memphis.

Brown took to social media to clarify the circumstances surrounding his injury, dispelling rumors that it occurred during a weightlifting session. “My back injury DID NOT happen in the weight room,” Brown stated in a post on Twitter/X. He explained that the injury predates the Memphis game and that he aggravated it with hard falls during that match. Brown expressed gratitude for the support from Coach Eli, stating that he is closely monitoring his recovery. “I will be back soon,” he assured fans.

In a more optimistic development for the Cardinals, shooting guard Ryan Conwell has been designated as a “game time decision” after injuring his left knee in practice on Thursday. Sports analyst Seth Davis noted that while the injury is not serious, it caused Conwell to miss Friday’s practice, leaving his participation in today’s game uncertain.

On the other side of the court, Boston College will also be missing key players, with forward Jason Asemota and guard Nick Petronio ruled out for the match. Petronio has yet to see the floor this season, while Asemota has contributed an average of 3.7 points and 2.8 rebounds in his eleven appearances.

As both teams prepare for their showdown, fans and players alike are hopeful for a competitive game and a chance for Louisville to regain momentum as the season progresses.
