In Round 3 at LIV Golf Adelaide, Bryson DeChambeau, the captain of Crushers GC, held a commanding five-shot lead over Jon Rahm as the tournament neared its conclusion. However, Rahm rallied spectacularly over his final five holes, playing at 5 under and finishing with an electrifying eagle on the 18th, bringing him level with DeChambeau at a total of 19 under.

Rahm started off the round with two early bogeys, marking his first consecutive bogeys since the LIV Golf Chicago event in August 2025. Just when it seemed DeChambeau was pulling away, Rahm surged back with three consecutive birdies on holes 14 to 16, culminating in his stunning hole-out eagle which has been dubbed a contender for the shot of the year. He concluded the day with an impressive round of 6-under 66.

DeChambeau, who began Round 3 two shots back of Rahm, delivered a masterclass performance, carding an 8-under 64 that featured an incredible stretch of eight birdies in just nine holes from 6 to 14. His round was mostly stress-free until he encountered his first bogey of the day at the par-4 17th.

This matchup sets the stage for an exhilarating final round, as for the first time since the LIV Golf Las Vegas event in 2024, DeChambeau and Rahm will play in the final pairing. Rahm expressed excitement about the upcoming duel, hoping for a thrilling showdown. “I think we’ll both be looking forward to it, and I hope it’s a banger,” he said. “May the best player win.”

In the pursuit of the lead, Anthony Kim, now part of the 4Aces GC, shot a solid 4-under 68, elevating his tournament score to 14 under, putting him in solo third, five shots behind the leaders. He will join Rahm and DeChambeau in the final group as he aims for his first top-10 finish in LIV Golf.

Three players are also in contention, tied at 13 under. Cameron Smith of Ripper GC made a significant leap up the leaderboard with an impressive 8-under 64, showcasing his short game prowess. “Felt really good,” Smith noted about his performance. “Managed to get it up-and-down, and my putter felt really good today.”

However, Ben Campbell of RangeGoats GC, once sharing the lead through the first two rounds, struggled to a disappointing even-par 72, leaving him seven shots back, tied for seventh.

On the team front, Legion XIII made remarkable strides, building a five-stroke advantage over Ripper GC. The team’s success was bolstered by solid outings from Tyrrell Hatton, Caleb Surratt, and Tom McKibbin. The overall scoring average for Round 3 mirrored Round 2 at –2.91, with some specific holes performing notably above or below par.

As the tournament heads into its final round, the anticipation builds for a possible showdown of brilliance between two of golf’s top talents, setting up what promises to be an unforgettable conclusion to LIV Golf Adelaide.
